Stimming, Tantrums, or Communication? Understanding Behaviours

First Bridge Education is excited to announce our FREE webinar: Stimming, Tantrums, or Communication? Understanding Behaviours.

When a child cannot express their needs easily with words, their behaviour becomes their voice.

This webinar is designed to help parents and carers understand the difference between behaviours that are developmental, sensory, or communication-based and how to respond to them with empathy and confidence.

You will learn:

  • What “stimming” is, why it happens, and when (or whether) to intervene
  • How to tell the difference between a meltdown, a tantrum, and a shutdown
  • How behaviour is often a form of communication, and what your child might be trying to express
  • How we support emotional regulation at First Bridge through tailored strategies and calm environments
  • What you can do at home to reduce overwhelm and help your child feel safe and understood

This is not about “fixing” behaviours, it is about decoding them, respecting them, and supporting your child in ways that work for their unique needs.

Join us to explore the ‘why’ behind the behaviour and to feel more confident in how you respond to it.

Presented by our School Principal and Clinical Director, Mikaela Green, MSc., BCBA, this webinar is perfect for:

    • Early Years Practitioners & Educators
    • SENCOs & Inclusion Leads
    • Childcare Providers
    • Health Visitors & Allied Health Professionals
    • Parents and Carers interested in child development
    • Local Authority and SEND professionals

Join us online on Tuesday, August 11th at 6 pm!
